Dear Parents

The last stretch of this term has finally arrived. The term has flown by at speed!



Please study the exam timetable carefully to see when your son writes exams. The arrangements listed below will be strictly adhered to:

The last exam will be written on Friday 15 June 2018. Please ensure that your son is at school until the last school day of the second term, Thursday 21 June, to check his exams, learn from his mistakes and file his portfolio work.


Reports MUST be collected on Friday, 22 June 2018 by your son. On Friday there will be a final assembly, after which your son will be handed his report by his House Teacher and dismissed at 9:00. The school office will close at 12:00. Reports not collected by your son on 22 June can be collected on the first day of school in the 3rd term.

Late submission of SBA tasks

All tasks which are submitted after 31 May are considered late. Teachers are required to submit their SBA marks by 1 June 2018. Please ensure that all SBA tasks are submitted by your son.


Congratulations to all the teams who took part over the weekend as well as to the KHS Jazz Band who performed at the KHSOBU Dinner. Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard over the weekend and who supported the boys at their matches.

MINTEK Minquiz

A KHS team took part in the NC Province Minquiz on 17 May. The team consistied of Luke Steele, Atlegang Mashilo and Norman Mabote. They were placed in the 2nd position. Congratulations!

Bridge Building Competition

Andile Morris, Ludwe Kubheka and Lesego Manyape represented KHS at the annual NC Province Bridge Building Competition. After a full day of building their model of a bridge, the bridge is put to the test. Our boys bridge was able to support 37kg (7th out of 19 teams) and the winning team’s bridge was able to support 248kg. Well done!

Father and Son Lunch

The Father and Son lunch has been postponed to a date to be announced. We call upon the Grade 8 parents who have not done so to please pay the R200 that is to be used towards hosting the lunch and purchasing the raffle prizes.


The raffle draw date is 17 June 2018. Please collect payments for your booklets as the raffle money should be paid to the school by 31 May 2018. Thank you to all parents who have already paid for their booklets and R200.

The hard work of the second term is almost over! All that is needed now is the final preparations for the June exams. Good luck!
